While it may be true that you are what you eat, drink and breathe, research now suggests that you are also what you can’t remove from your body!

The word "detoxification" (or detox) may bring up thoughts of juice fasts, hunger or extreme diets, and frequent no.2 trips to the bathroom!
I think we can agree that there are many misunderstandings and confusion around what detoxification actually is.

The goal of an effective medical detoxification is to help improve your body’s natural ability to remove harmful toxins from the body, and reduce the body’s toxic burden. This involves strengthening your detox organs (primarily the liver and kidneys) and clearing out your elimination pathways.

Unless we live in a bubble, our environment and food sources expose us to a variety of toxins on the daily (ie. hormones, pesticides, heavy metals, etc.). Toxins that accumulate in the body over time can cause harmful effects to your immune system, brain, hormonal system, metabolism, and your physical and emotional wellbeing, and can even lead to chronic health concerns.
